"There is panic on
the streets of New York. The city is in the grip of a
wave of bizarre and terrifying murders, apparently
committed by a crazed cop. The only tickets this killer
with a badge is handing out are one-way tickets to the
morgue! Police officer Jack Forrest is arrested as a
convenient sacrifice to the outraged public, but can he
really be the monster who is stalking the streets? His
mistress Teresa, a beautiful under-cover policewoman,
can't believe her lover is guilty of such brutal crimes.
Detective McRae can't believe it either. He knows the
mysterious psycho will kill again. He enjoys killing. But
McRae's eventual discovery of the Maniac Cop's strange
identitiy has fatal consequences... When the Maniac cop
is on duty, You'll be screaming blue murder!"
I bought this one in my "buy
everything with Bruce Campbell in it" phase. It's
not bad. What ever you do though, don't get the sequel.

Monster
Dog
"Lou is a rock
singer who unwittingly leads his band into a weekend of
terror they will never forget. A classic werewolf
adventure with a unique twist, Monster Dog will hold you
in the grip of fear as it unleashes new dimensions in
terror!"
With a title like this, it has to
be in my collection.

Martin
"Martin opens with a ferocious account
of its teenage hero's bloodlust in a railway compartment,
where he slashes a girl's wrist and drinks her blood in
sexual ecstasy. Widely held to be Romero's best
and most disturbing horror film, it centres on a shy and
confused 18-year old 'vampire' living with relatives. His
elderly cousin believes he's a Nosferatu, but Martin is a
strictly modern sexual psycho who uses razor blades and
syringes to drain the blood from his victims"
This is truly a disturbing film.

Mind
Killer
"Warren is a
socially inept young librarian who is highly susceptible
to self-help manuals. While pouring over one such book,
he discovers that by expanding his mind, he can control
his environment and the actions of other people.
Disturbed by his changing personality, his co-worker,
Larry, and his room mate, Brad, attempt to help but
instead become the objects of his wrath. Eventually,
Warren loses control. His overtaxed brain turns into a
monster and bursts from his skull. The horribly mutant
brain-creature takes on a life of it's own. Relentlessly
it pursues Sandy, his newly-appointed supervisor and the
object of his desires. Warren's horrified friends can no
longer help him - now they must destroy him."
So next time you're making fun of
the geek stacking the books in your local library, just
make sure their head isn't about to explode!

Mutant
on the Bounty
"Max has
been stranded in hyper space for 23 years, but when he
materialises onto the good ship USS Bounty with half his
face missing, and finds that they've lost his luggage,
we're talking serious depression city. Unfortunately for
Max, his troubles don't end with the free cosmetic
surgery that leaves his face looking as though he's been
bobbing for french fries in the deep fat fryer. He's
being chased by two intergalactic hoods, who together
have about as much charm as Atilla the Hun and who are
after something that Max doesn't even know he's got. Add
to this the hapless crew of the USS Bounty, a tranvestite
android patched together with microwave chips who's
absolutely no use in an emergency but can tell you how to
defrost your average TV dinner and a nymphomaniac doctor
whose bedside manner will put your pacemaker into
overload. Join the whacky crew of the USS Bounty as they
blunder through deep space, in a movie with even more
laughs than SPACEBALLS."
With such an outrageous title it
just had to be purchased. Unfortunately the film itself
is not nearly as good as the title.

Mindwarp
"It is the year 2037. Following a
nuclear disaster, the earth's inhabitants are confined to
a sterile biosphere and spend most of their lives hooked
up to a computer network that feeds their fantasies. But
one young beauty rebels against the non-stop mind control
and is exciled into the reality of 'THE OUTWORLD' - a
toxic wasteland ruled by religious zealots and mutant
cannibals. With state of the art sci-fi effects and a
mind-bending climax, MINDWARP thrills and torments every
step of the way. In a future run by computers, reality
becomes a nightmare."
Another Bruce Campbell classic.

Moon Trap
"On a routine space shuttle mission,
Astronaut Jason Grant and Astronuat Marty Tanner discover
a derelict space ship orbitting the earth. Grant
retrieves a metallic sphere from the wreckage. Once back
on earth the object turns out to be a spore with the
ability to transform available machinery into a monstrous
robot, existing only to multiply and kill. Grant and
Tanner return to the moon to neutralise the threat, only
to discover a ruined civilisation, and a centuries old
woman, Mera, entombed alive in suspended animation. The
alien robots long ago seized the base, and having
destroyed the astronauts space craft, leave Grant, Tanner
and Mera marooned in the MOONTRAP. They must fight for
their own survival, but also for the survival of humanity
and the protection of the earth from the planned
invaders. This award winning special effects extravaganza
combines the spectacle of Star Wars with the thrill of
Aliens. Utilising saturn five rockets, Lunar
landing modules and the latest space
shuttle technology, this action packed movie
proves correct the statement, 'The Sci Fi event of 1989'.
In 1969 the whole world thought Neil Armstrong was the
first..... but something had been waiting 14,000
years."

Martian
Go Home!
"Composer Mark
Deveraux is working on a theme for a SciFi movie, which
accidentally goes out over the air. Next morning, the
Earth is invaded by little green men from Mars. But they
haven't come to enslave us..... they've come to send us
up. They know everything. They get everywhere. And
unfortunately they've got an inexaustible supply of gags.
But the worst comes when they display an all-consuming
interest in something that Earth people do - and Martians
don't. Mark soon realises that his theme tune holds the
key to the mystery. And if only the Martians would stop
telling jokes, he might be able to remember it..."
I didn't much like this film, but
my wife thought it was excellent. So I have decided not
to give it a rating myself, giving way to her superior
knowledge on what is funny and what is just plain stupid.
