"The
walking dead have taken over the world and time is
running out for the living survivors holed up in an
underground missile silo. They must find a way to
overcome the living dead or they will all die. Food is
running low; ammunition and medical supplies are almost
gone - the scientific and military teams are at each
others throats. Their only hope of survival rests on
controlling and domesticating the walking dead or getting
them back to the grave - for good."
One of the best. Seriously, if you
haven't seen this, you must.

"Two girls are given free tickets to a
special screening in an isolated cinema. The film, a
violent horror movie, exerts a malevolent influence over
the cinema patrons who are transformed - one by bloody
one - into a horde of crazed demons. Dario Argento's
expertise is evident in the film's production design and
eclectic musical score featuring songs by Motley Crue,
Scorpions and Billy Idol. The film is said to be inspired
by a disquieting phrase ascribed to Nostradamus."
One of the best zombie films ever.
This was just about the first real horror film I ever
saw. Except the Hammer Horror films that is. Writing
credits also go to Dario Argento.

Demons 2
"More action, violence, mayhem and
horror unfold in this worthy sequel to the earlier Demons
film, which once again teams director Lamberto Bava with
producer Dario Argento. This time its the tennants of an
urban tower block who find themselves under seige from
the demon menace, as the demons re-enter the real world
through a TV set in one of the rooms in the
building."
The first Demons film was
fantastic, still one of the best zombie flicks ever. This
film had a lot to live up to.

"As the
number of the living dead increases a disbelieving
society slowly collapses. Martial Law is declared and
citizens may no longer occupy private residence and
instead are sent to rescue centers, many of which are
already becoming overridden by the living dead. Four of
the few surviving humans escape the city in a helicopter.
Running low on fuel they land on the roof of a shopping
mall in search of refuge. Tempted by the supplies they
venture into the shops they can see below. Although the
living dead are at large they are few in numbers and the
four manage to clear the mall and baracade themselves in
from the ever increasing number of living dead
outside..."

Dark Power
"Ranger
Girard is sitting at the deathbed of an indian friend,
when he hears the legend of the Ancient Toltel Sorcerers.
A thousand years ago these cannibals buried themselves
alive and have continued to feed on the living in order
to survive. With his dying breath the Indian begs Girard,
to take up his place in the battle against these fiendish
demons. He pleads with Girard to protect others, against
the evil days to come, when the spirits will mount their
attack, to conquer the four corners of the earth. Girard
sets out to honour his friend's last wish, to fight this
terrifying menace. He is called upon, to protect a group
of unsuspecting college students, who have rented a
secluded house haunted by the murderous spirits."

Dark Star
"BOMBED OUT IN SPACE WITH A SPACED OUT
BOMB! John Carpenter's irreverent sci-fi parody in which
the astronauts are not so much lost in space as hanging
loose there. The scoutship DARK STAR roams endlessly
through space on a mission to destroy unstable planets in
advance of the main fleet. The men have been on this
mission for twenty years - neglected by earth, bored with
recreational facilities provided by their sexy-voiced
computer, irritated by their pet alien, their main
occupation is to provoke each other. The excitement, the
danger, are things of the past... until their last
talking bomb develops a mind of its own and a deep
interest in philosophical concepts! With all their lives
at stake it's down to Captain Doolitle to save the day,
armed only with a working knowledge of Descartes... A
cosmically comic, brilliantly inventive debut by the
director of HALLOWEEN, co-written by the scriptwriter of
ALIEN."
You've really got to be in the
right frame of mind to watch this one. When you do - make
sure you watch it to the end. An alien that looks like a
giant tomato is nothing compared to a guy surfing a
nuclear explosion through space.

"Jack Caine is a
Houston Vice cop who's forgotten the rule book. His
selfappointed mission is to stop the drugs trade and the
number one supplier Victor Manning. Whilst involved in an
undercover operation to entrap Victor Manning, his
partner gets killed, and a sinister newcomer enters the
scene... Along with F.B.I. Agent Laurence Smith, the two
investigate a spate of mysterious deaths; normal
non-junkies dying of massive heroin overdoses and bearing
the same horrific puncture marks on the forehead. This,
coupled with Caine's own evidence, indicates an alien
force is present on the streets of Houston, killing and
gathering stocks of a rare drug found only in the
brain... Caine is used to fighting the toughest of
criminals, but up to now they've all been human..."
There reaches a point in this film
where you have to ask, Why does he keep saying 'I COME IN
PEACE' and then promptly killing someone? Well the answer
is simple - it's so that the good guy can say 'YOU GO IN
PIECES' when he kills the alien. Dolph Lundgren is about
8 foot tall.

The

"In the state
mental asylum, the once brilliant Dr Ramzi has gone
completely mad, performing fiendish experiments and death
rituals. His colleague Dr Swan eventually has to kill
Ramzi in order to stop the slaughter. He then seals the
DEAD PIT where the bodies of the victims have been
thrown, hoping to hide the grisly evidence. Twenty years
later in 1989 a beautiful young woman suffering from
total amnesia is admitted, a few days later a massive
earthquake hits the asylum and the strange and terrifying
events start occuring. Ramzi's dying words 'you can't
kill me' have come back to haunt Swan with a vengeance.
One thing is sure - when the dead start walking, you'd
better start running."

Bram
Stoker's Dracula
"Director
Francis Ford Coppola returns to the original source of
the Dracula myth, and from that gothic romance, he
creates a modern masterpiece. It follows the tortured
journey of the devastatingly seductive Transylvanian
Prince as he moves from Eastern Europe to 19th century
london in search of his long lost love Elisabeta, who is
reincarnated as the beautiful Mina. Anthony Hopkins
co-stars as the famed doctor Van Helsing and Keanu Reeves
is Jonathan Harker who is forced to fight the dark forces
of Dracula for the love of Mina. Visually stunning,
passionately seductive and utterly irresistible, this is
Dracula as you've never seen him before - a powerful and
poignant vampire whose yearnings for human love
ultimately proves his undoing."

Disconnected
"Murders are disrupting the usual quite
(this is not my
spelling mistake it actually is spelt like that on the
cover.HorrorVault) of
Waterbury, Connecticut, and the police are baffled.
Against this unsettling background we meet Alicia and her
promiscuious twin sister Barbara Ann. Alicia suspects her
twin of having designs on her boyfreind mike. Alicia is
also pursued by Franklin, a highly-strung but nice young
man who she rejects, until she overhears an amorous
conversation between Barbara Ann and Mike. She enjoys the
date, but afterwards Franklin picks up a young woman at a
night club, brings her home to his apartment - where he
proceeds to brutally murder her. While police continue to
try and track down the killer, Alicia's nerves become
increasingly strained, from persistent, disturbing
telephone calls featuring eerie sounds. The story has a
bizarre twist at the end."
It's right you know. Just when,
Poirot like, you have decided that you know who's done
what to who - there is a massive twist. You find out that

Don't
go in the House
"Donny
Kohler is sick. Very sick. He was cruelly abused as a
child by his mother. He is 27 years old now and his
mother is dead. Her death changes him-a long dormant
psychosis is brought to life. He methodically prepares
his revenge. His first victim is a beautiful young girl.
He burns her alive in a metal room he has built for
vengeance. He cannot stop killing once he's committed
this first gruesome murder. He keeps the horribly charred
corpses in the house with him, dressed in mother's finest
gowns. He shares his feelings and thoughts with them in a
way he never could with living people, but suddenly a
form of conscience begins causing him nightmares and
hallucinations. Donny Kohler is lost in the terror of his
own life...and the final revenge comes from his
victims."
